Hiroyoshi Shimada has had an amazing season behind the wheel of his Tomiyoshi Racing supported EVO VII. The CT9A had been down all Summer at the shop in Kagoshima getting a complete engine overhaul in order to unlock new potential for the 2024 season. The investment paid off with new personal bests at the two tracks Shimada frequents; his local track of Autopolis, and the benchmark of time attack, Tsukuba. After hitting a goal time of 1'48.7 at Autopolis International Circuit, he went on to mark a 54.1 at Tsukuba putting him 24th overall at TC2000, overtaking the Cyber Evo to make him the 4th fastest EVO at Tsukuba: Escort: 49.897 Garage G-Force: 52.391 HKS CT230R: 53.589 Kyushu Danji: 54.179 Cyber EVO: 54.392 We caught up with Shimada and the Tomiyoshi brothers during the snowy Autopolis Super Lap event and got some additional up close look at the build.
