We all know it is an essential element in transforming a novice trainee into an expert clinician. The ACGME recognizes it as an essential tool for teaching our residents. However, with ever-increasing clinical and administrative demands placed on both faculty and residents, how does one find the time to give good, effective feedback? This didactic presentation hopes to answer these, as well as many more questions regarding the current state of feedback delivery in GME. Attendees will be taken on a whirlwind adventure through: what are the expectations from ACGME? what is the current state of feedback across various fields? and how can we do better when it comes to giving our residents increased quantity and quality of feedback? The focus of the discussion will be on innovations implemented and studied by the presenters: leveraging, technology and gamification to improve resident feedback through modes that are generalizable across institutions and specialties. After attending the session, the audience will be empowered to improve feedback at their home institution through practical and reproducible innovations aimed to increase quality feedback for their trainees.
