DIY Synthetic Winch Rope Thimble Splice: No Need for $50 Fast Fid Tool!!!

Factor 55 builds top quality recovery products. My current favorite is the Flat Splicer! It is similar to the FlatLink which easily attaches to any winch ropes with a pin connection. However, the Factor 55 Flat Splicer is different as it eliminates the synthetic rope end loop. Instead, the winch rope is spliced directly onto the Factor 55 Flat Splicer thimble. Why is it better? Less clunky. More compact. Better integration. Otherwise, it’s the same design and features of the older brother FlatLink. The only complication is learning how to splice synthetic winch rope.
