A feature-length video, showcasing the UK's oldest working original Steam locomotive, Furness No. 20, during its visit to the East Lancashire Railway's 2025 Autumn Steam Gala. Including aerial views.
Furness No. 20, was a works locomotive, built in 1863, by Sharp, Stewart and Co. for the original Furness Railway; only to be sent away in 1870 to work for Steelworks in Barrow. It continued in work, until 1960; and was then preserved as a static monument, first outside a local Barrow School - the George Hastwell Special School; then in 1983 to the Steamtown Railway Museum in Carnforth. It was acquired by the Furness Railway Trust in 1990, and after much fundraising, was restored back to working service in 1999. The locomotive currently resides at the Ribble Steam Railway, in Preston.
Clips were filmed at Bury Bolton Street station, and on the Shuttle Service to Burrs Country Park; as well as at Brooksbottom Viaduct, around Summerseat, and Ramsbottom station; between Friday 17th and Sunday 19th October 2025, on the East Lancashire Railway, in Greater Manchester and Lancashire, UK.
