What Is It Actually Like to Run Melbourne Marathon 2026

This year, I finally managed to visit Melbourne with some friends, and we all got slots in the Melbourne Marathon 2026. Two of us did the full marathon, another two did the half marathon. Weather was wonderful, the logistics, volunteers, route and atmosphere were amazing. With more than 60,000 participants for the entire 2-days event, this was not an easy event to manage, and I think the organisers have done a good job - from the signing up process, to information for the race and the race days themselves, everything was smooth and seamless for us. Only pity, in my opinion, was that the half marathon runners did not receive any T-shirt at all (not even a runner singlet). Hopefully that can be improved next year.
