SALHER FORT : Salher Fort is located in Maharashtra’s Nashik district, in the Baglan region. Standing at around 1,567 metres, it is the highest fort in Maharashtra and 2nd highest peaks in the state. The trek is considered moderate to challenging, with rocky trails, steep sections and ancient rock-cut steps. Depending on the route and pace, it generally takes around 2 to 3 hours to reach the top. At the summit, you can explore ancient fort structures, temples, caves and water cisterns, along with spectacular views of the Sahyadri mountain ranges and the neighbouring Salota Fort. Salher is also historically significant because of the Battle of Salher, fought between the Marathas and Mughals during the era of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. So, Salher is not just a trek—it's a combination of adventure, history and incredible Sahyadri views.
