COURT EXPOSES POLICE STORY IN NOIDA PROTEST CASE: WHO WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE? The Allahabad High Court has delivered a sharp blow to the UP Police and Noida administration over the NSA case against activist Aakriti Choudhary. The court found the police narrative baseless and ordered ₹5 lakh to be recovered from the salaries of responsible officials, including Noida DM Medha Roopam. But the bigger issue goes beyond one NSA case. Activists say they were subjected to custodial violence, fabricated evidence and a chain of FIRs designed to keep them behind bars. The court has now questioned the official version. The court questioned the narrative presented by the UP Police and Noida administration. It also ordered ₹5 lakh to be deducted from the salaries of responsible officials, including DM Medha Roopam. “हाई कोर्ट ने कहा कि यूपी पुलिस ने नोएडा प्रशासन ने एक मनगढ़ंत कहानी बनाई कोई सबूत नहीं थे और एनएसए लगाने को लेकर के इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट ने नोएडा की डीएम मेधा रूपम से लेकर के जिम्मेदार पुलिस अधिकारियों की सैलरी काटने के आदेश दिए” [01:50] —— [02:58] CUSTODIAL TORTURE AND FABRICATED EVIDENCE The case also raises serious allegations about what happened in custody. Activists allege that 15 police personnel beat them, that personal laptops were seized, and that libraries were raided for books on Bhagat Singh. The pattern was simple. Bail in one case could be followed by arrest in another. The state, according to the court proceedings, failed to establish evidence that Aakriti Choudhary had attempted to incite violence. The central question was simple.
