40 Years of Somewhere in Time — Iron Maiden On September 29, 1986, Iron Maiden released Somewhere in Time, an album that changed heavy metal forever and, for me, changed my life as a drummer. I was only 15 years old when this album came out, and Nicko McBrain was already my drum hero. His playing opened the door to the world of metal for me and had a huge influence on the drummer I would eventually become. Looking back now, it’s incredible to realize how deeply this album shaped my career. For this special 40th-anniversary celebration, I decided to play “Déjà Vu, a very special choice because it is one of those Iron Maiden songs the band has never played live in their entire career. This is also the first drum cover I’m recording with my new Czarcie Kopyto pedals, which makes this video even more special to me. I hope you guys enjoy this tribute as much as I enjoyed making it.
