Nestled at the very northern tip of Rhodes Island, one of the first things you'll notice is the impressive embrace of fortified walls surrounding the entire Old Town. You can even walk along sections for breathtaking panoramic views, and the link is below.

Choosing the perfect time to explore Rhodes Old Town hinges on your priorities. For scorching sunshine then July and August are your months. The "sweet spot" of April-June and September-October offers pleasant temperatures ideal for wandering, fewer crowds, shorter queues. If you're on a tighter budget or crave tranquility, November-March offers the lowest prices and fewest tourists.
A great free thing to do is take a walk up the very famous Street of the Knights. Quick tip though…it gets very busy to get there very early.
FREE ENTRY DATES
Dates that change that change: Epiphany, Clean Monday, Orthodox Good Friday, Orthodox Easter Sunday and Monday, Labour Day, Orthodox Whit Monday.

Probably the most popular thing to see is the Palace of the Grand Master. It’s a real-life medieval castle built by knights 100’s of years ago. Next up we have the tours. Whether you're a fan of small groups or private, you've got some amazing ones including walking tours, food tours, evening and night with drinks and entertainment, and even ones on Trikes and Segways.

Can you stay there? “Yes you can”. There’s everything from budget to five star. You're not gonna find massive resort complexes, but there’s lots of smaller hotels and apartments, some even with pools. And wherever you stay it’s not going to be far to walk to everything.

As for places to eat, you are absolutely spoilt for choice. Try something local and even unique to the island. Two I recommend are Pitaroudia: Fritters made from chickpeas, tomatoes, onions, mint, and spices, fried until golden and crispy. Or, Lakani: Either goat or lamb, slow-cooked with chickpeas, wheat, tomatoes, onions, and cumin. For those with a sweet tooth, then Takakia: Fried pastries filled with ground nuts, sesame seeds, and spices, then drizzled with honey.
