4/1/1975 Sabres at Bruins NHL Action Game of the Week Boston's Bobby Orr Buffalo's Gilbert Perreault

This video is the National Hockey League Action Game of the Week from April 1, 1975, as the Buffalo Sabres played the Bruins in Boston. This isn't a game broadcast, but with Marv Albert narrating over enough film footage to give a good picture of how the game went, it's quite watchable. It was originally done by NHL Films, then rebroadcast on ESPN's Classic Sports Network. The up-and-coming Sabres, with their French Connection line of Gilbert Perrault, Rick Martin, and Rene Robert, are at Boston Garden to face the Bruins of Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito, on the decline from their recent glory years but still quite formidable. After a scoreless first period, with the teams feeling each other out, Esposito and Martin traded goals in the second. Buffalo got a Perrault strike and an empty-netter in the third to prevail. The Sabres would advance to the Stanley Cup Finals, where they fell to the Philadelphia Flyers in six games. The Bruins were defeated in the preliminary round by the Chicago Blackhawks. I just posted it to get rid of the commercials and add the summary, for historical and educational purposes, and for those who will enjoy it as much as I did.
