Astor Piazzolla - Preparense

Tango Rosa Rio performs Preparense by Astor Piazzolla. Tango Rosa Rio is one of the few all female tango quartets in the world. The members of the quartet were brought together by their common passion for the concert repertoire of Astor Piazzolla and other Argentinian tango music. Astor Piazzolla's beautiful music has carved out an important place in classical music. His pieces are played around the world by very diverse ensmbles, musicians and orchestras. Piazzolla managed to bring the tango music played in salons and on the streets onto the concert stage, and it has stayed put. This music demands a great deal from interpreters, and a solid classical training is essential. Furthermore, for a convincing performance of dance tangos, a special technique where the instruments play both a melodic and rhythmic function is needed. Alongside Piazzolla's music, Rosa Rio plays dance tangos from other composers as well as special arrangements.
