WAITROSE budget RANGE | Walkabout looking at the ESSENTIALS range

I've been meaning to pop into Waitrose and explore their essential range for quite a while so am glad I have finally done it. In summary, Waitrose have quite a large selection of 'essential' aka budget range, but to be fair some of these may be a bit overpriced to be included in a 'budget' range - I know its called 'essentials' but it clearly is aiming at 'budget' concious shoppers. Quality is definitely up there, and some few items were better priced than Lidl - the baking potatoes for instance. List below of compared items as seen in the vlog (price in brackets is Waitrose 'Essentials' range price): Apples x 6 £1.49 (£1.95) Pears x 6 £1.29 (£1.80) 20% fat Beef Mince £2.29 (£2.75) 300g 'creamy' Coleslaw £1.25 (£1.20 not 'creamy') Bacon Lardons £1.99 (£2.75) New potatoes 99p (£1.30) 4x Baking Potatoes £1.49 (80p) Carrots 65p (70p) Single cream 300ml 99p (for 600ml £2.10) Chilled Cheese & Tomato Pizza 99p ( Chilled Garlic Baguette 37p (£1.15) Cheddar Cheese 300g £2.49 (for 350g £2.60) tin of Chopped Tomatoes 39p (70p) Chilled Houmous 89p 200g, £1.19 300g (£1.75 300g) ball of Mozzarella 69p (90p) Garden peas in a tin 38p (no petit pois so cannot quite compare) Red Kidney Beans - tin 35p (60p) Chickpeas - tin 49p (70p) (no tinned spaghetti in stock today) Baked Beans - tin 28p (55p) Beansprouts 400g 89p (80p) Oh and getting a free cup of coffee if you're a Waitrose member is a neat idea.
