It’s been reported that the continent could face a jet-fuel deficit of more than 500,000 barrels every day during the final three months of 2026. Inventories at Europe’s most important fuel-trading hub have already fallen to their lowest level in seven years, forcing Europe to import supplies from as far away as South Korea, the United States, Canada and Nigeria. In this video, I examine why Europe is struggling to produce enough jet fuel, how disruption in the Middle East and damage to Russian refineries are tightening global supplies, and what this could mean for airlines, ticket prices, tourism and inflation.
