A boat-shaped formation 538 feet long has been sitting on a hillside in eastern Turkey for thousands of years, 18 miles south of Mount Ararat. This month researchers drilled into it, shattered a drill bit on something hard 4 meters down, sent a camera robot through the holes, and found organic layers with no bedrock underneath. A U.S. Department of Defense radar scientist just released a preliminary report with one conclusion: it's not geological. The lab results don't come back until 2027, but what they've already found is harder to explain than anything that's come before.
