What If a Marble-Sized Black Hole Appeared in Your Kitchen?

A black hole the size of a marble appears on your kitchen table. It weighs almost as much as the entire Earth. Here's what happens next, from the first billionth of a second to millions of years later. Spaghettification, a flash brighter than 150 million nuclear bombs every second, a marble that sinks straight to the center of the planet, and a twist: why a black hole this powerful can only eat like a picky toddler. Where would you rather be when it happens? The kitchen, or the far side of the planet?
