A postcard village just 20 minutes from Amsterdam.🇳🇱 Historic windmills, green wooden houses, cheese, clogs, cute ducks, and beautiful river views. 💡 Tips: ✔️ Train from Amsterdam Centraal to Zaandijk Zaanse Schans, then a short walk ✔️ Entry is free for now, with a paid ticket (about €17.50) planned from April 2027 ✔️ Go early to beat the tour buses ✔️ Carry a windproof jacket! We forgot, and had to buy one there 😅 ✔️ Restaurant and souvenir penny machine right at the entrance 🪙 ✔️ Respect residents, as people live here 🗺️ Nearby: Zaandam, Volendam, Edam, Marken, and Alkmaar.
