Amser Short Breaks Scheme 2025–26 Video

Following the Amser Short Breaks Scheme 2025–26, we’re reflecting on the difference it has made to unpaid carers across RCT and Merthyr Tydfil. Funded by Carers Trust Wales, Interlink RCT worked alongside Voluntary Action Merthyr Tydfil to provide funding to 10 local groups, helping them deliver a range of flexible short breaks for unpaid carers of all ages. From creative activities and time outdoors to opportunities to connect with others and simply take some time for themselves, the scheme supported groups to offer short breaks that responded to the needs and interests of local carers. The 10 groups that provided short breaks to carers across RCT and Merthyr Tydfil were: • Cwm Taff People First • Behaviour Support Hub • Gelli Life for Living • Growing Space Pontypridd • Age Connects Morgannwg • The Arc Project • NeuroBusiness • Dowlais Community Centre – run by The Stephens & George Charitable Trust • Gellideg Foundation Group • Taff Rocks Together, these groups supported 644 unpaid carers and 361 people they care for, providing opportunities for carers to take a break, connect with others and enjoy activities in their local communities.
