The Ballad of Hollis Brown - clawhammer banjo - Marc Nerenberg

I've been working lately on several different arrangements of the murder ballad "Pretty Polly" and playing around with that song quite a bit. Since Bob Dylan "borrowed" the melody of Pretty Polly for his song The Ballad of Hollis Brown, I figured it would be appropriate to "borrow" my arrangement of Pretty Polly for the Bob Dylan song - except, it being a Bob Dylan song, I've added some harmonica punctuation, that is not there in the original arrangement, to enliven things a bit. This was recorded on a Jason Romero Banjo, played mostly clawhammer style, at Montreal's Yellow Door Coffeehouse Hootenanny of 10 August 2018. The banjo is tuned fAEAE, with a capo at the 3rd fret, rendering the tuning to be fCGCG, and played in a Cm pentatonic scale. The harmonica is a Bb harmonica, played in a Cm mode (specifically, C Dorian).
