IG286 How to perform an oil change F56 Mini Cooper S / JCW

How to do an oil change on the F56 Mini Cooper S/JCW — my car's got about 46,000 miles on it and I change the oil every 5,000 miles even though the car's own interval is longer. Running Liqui Moly Top Tech 6600 0W-20, which meets the BMW LL-17 spec, with a Hengst filter (OEM/Mahle-Hengst), part #E38HD321. I also swapped in a Mishimoto magnetic drain plug, part #MMODP-1215B, M12x1.5 in black — it's slightly bigger than the factory plug, so you'll need a 19mm socket instead of the factory size. Tools you'll want: a 32mm shallow socket for the oil filter housing (a deep socket won't clear — the angle doesn't allow it), a T55 Torx for the filter cap, and a 17mm for the drain plug bolt. I add about 4 quarts to start, then use the car's electronic dipstick/computer check to top off precisely, since the F56 doesn't have a physical dipstick — usually takes roughly another quart to get it reading "OK."
