The Warning two days in a row!
After learning Why Do You Like It When I Cry? yesterday, I was very happy to discover that Bite My Tongue is in the exact same tuning! Wahey! And thanks to everyone in the comments yesterday who told me about The Warning's tuning!
This one is tuned to Drop A — A E A D F# B — and WOW, it makes these riffs sound huge!
The song has another load of brilliant guitar parts, starting with a seriously heavy riff before moving into a pre-chorus with a mad hammer-on part and a really cool rhythm. The chorus brings in another heavy power chord section with some great rhythmic changes throughout.
Then there's a really cool middle section with harmonics, which ended up being my favourite part of the song. It was actually pretty tricky to play through, but sounded so good!
In this video, we cover:
• Drop A tuning — A E A D F# B
• The main heavy guitar riff
• The pre-chorus hammer-on part
• The different rhythm guitar parts
• The chorus power chords
• The middle section harmonics
• Tips for playing the trickier sections
• A full playthrough
Another fantastic song from The Warning, and it's been great diving into two songs from the new album back-to-back. There are so many interesting guitar ideas packed into these songs!
This isn't just a reaction – it's a live guitar lesson where we figure the song out together.
