Nostalgic Playthrough Samurai Warriors 2 XL Mitsuhide Akechi Stage 5 - Battle of Yamazaki

Yamazaki is known as the grave of the Akechi, as most of their forces were killed in action and Mitsuhide himself vanished. Some say he was slain by bandits, while others claim he escaped and later became a Tokugawa retainer under the name Tenkai Nankōbō. What makes this battle especially tragic is that Mitsuhide had no real allies beyond the Akechi. Hashiba allied with the Hosokawa and Tsutsui to crush him, even though both clans were originally meant to be Akechi allies. Instead, they remained neutral until the very end, only to side with Hashiba in this battle—a decision that ultimately led to their own downfall. Ideally, Mitsuhide should have had the Chōsokabe as allies, but Motochika is only implemented in Xtreme Legends, meaning the Chōsokabe do not exist in this story. As for the battle itself, it can be either fun or chaotic, as enemies appear everywhere and your allies may struggle to hold their ground. That said, you do not need to worry too much about Hidemitsu and Toshimitsu, as they are the only ones sturdy enough to reliably deal with enemy pressure. After this battle, Mitsuhide becomes shōgun for good. I used PCSX2 as an emulator to play Samurai Warriors, and most of my playthrough was streamed on TikTok. You can find my TikTok link below! P.S. I'm working on a story on Wattpad inspired by my gameplay, mostly from JRPGs. If you're interested in adapting it into a webtoon, comic, manga, or even a game story, feel free to reach out! I'll include the link below.
