7 Land Rovers Take on Black Bear Pass & Imogene Pass | Ouray, Colorado

Tre Join us as seven Land Rovers take on two of Colorado’s most legendary high-alpine trails: Black Bear Pass and Imogene Pass during the 2026 National Land Rover Rally, hosted by the Solihull Society in Ouray, Colorado. Our group included: Land Rover LR3 Defender 90 Classic Defender 110 New Defender 110 Discovery 1 Three Discovery 2s The day took us above 13,100 feet on Imogene Pass and over 12,000 feet on Black Bear Pass, with breathtaking scenery, narrow shelf roads, steep descents, and technical driving that make these trails famous around the world. Like any great adventure, things didn’t go exactly as planned. A few members of our group experienced altitude sickness, requiring us to descend to lower elevations sooner than expected. Later in the day, the mountains reminded us who’s in charge as hail, rain, thunder, and lightning rolled in, adding another layer of excitement to an already unforgettable trail run. Despite the challenges, every vehicle completed the route safely, and we finished the day with incredible memories, spectacular views, and new friendships.
