Gospel giant Dennis Montgomery III brings exhilarating energy to "Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho," the traditional African American spiritual dating to the 1800s, whose triumphant story of walls come tumbling down has inspired generations of performers from Mahalia Jackson to Elvis Presley. Montgomery, who grew up playing the Hammond B3 in Shreveport's Baptist churches from the age of nine, has directed Berklee College of Music's famed Reverence Gospel Ensemble for over three decades, mentoring artists including Lalah Hathaway, Paula Cole, and Susan Tedeschi. He is joined by Christopher Montgomery on drums.
