The fear of the Lord is not about being afraid of God. It is about standing in awe of who He is, honoring His holiness, respecting His greatness, and willingly submitting our lives to Him. The fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom because it teaches us to trust God instead of relying only on our own understanding. This message reminds us that when we truly recognize who God is, our attitude toward sin, our decisions, and even our worries begin to change. We become more careful about the things that dishonor Him and more willing to surrender our own plans to His will. The fear of the Lord becomes a guide that keeps us from choices that can harm and destroy our lives. The realization is that the more we fear God, the less we need to fear people and temporary troubles. When our hearts are focused on God and our trust is completely placed in Him, we can experience genuine peace, confidence, and assurance even in difficult situations. The sermon also reminds us of the blessings connected with walking in the fear of the Lord; His favor, protection, provision, healing, and salvation. These are not reasons to fear God merely for what we can receive, but reminders that a life surrendered to Him is a life directed by His wisdom and care. May we learn to walk each day with a holy awe of God. May we honor Him not only in church, but also in our choices, words, relationships, work, and private lives. When we place God above our fears, plans, and worries, we can walk with greater wisdom, peace, and confidence. The fear of the Lord is a precious gift.
