2026-10-01 Srimad Bhagavatam SB 3.6.37-3.6.40 Hare Krishna dear devotees 💐 Today we discussed that “The highest perfectional gain of humanity is to engage in discussion of pious activities of the Lord”.⭐️SB 3.6.37-40 ⭐️SB 3.6.37 🔸Actual purpose of ears is served by hearing about lord. 🔸Wherever Krishna Katha is discussed-3 people gets benefit 🔺Speaker 🔺Hearer 🔺person who asks questions. 🔸Maitreya muni heard the knowledge directly from the Lord and now he is saying that inspite of his inability, whatever he was able to assimilate, he is describing to Vidura. He is only speaking to glorify the Lord. 🔸Maitreya muni could have easily shown off his knowledge but he is saying that he is just speaking to utilize his power of speech for the glorification of Lord. 🔸Lord is unlimited and His glories are unlimited and no one can have the complete understanding of Lord. 🔸Bhakti Siddhant Sarasvati Thakur at the age of 7years memorized all the 700 verses of BG. 🔸Hearing or sravanam is very important. The highest perfectional gain of humanity is to engage in discussion of pious activities of the Lord. 🔸When Bhakti Siddhant Sarasvati Thakur was giving lecture during the Vraja Mangal parikrama, few devotees were going around for parikrama. But Prabhupada was sitting the whole time and just hearing to Bhakti Siddhant Sarasvati Thakur. 🔸In Srila Prabhupada’s mind, all the tirtha sthana is situated at lotus feet of his guru. 🔸 when after many years Srila Prabhupada’s name was mentioned for initiation to Bhakti Siddhant Sarasvati Thakur, he said that he knows him and he has a taste for hearing. 🔸Devotees who regularly hear, their level of devotion and understanding of the whole process is on a completely different platform compared to those who don’t hear. 🔸Radha Nath maharaj said out of everyone doing service in the close proximity of Srila Prabhupada, are not having as much of his association, as the one hearing attentively to Srila Prabhupada. 🔸Srila Prabhupada writes that SB is one such great literature of glories of lord and the highest perfection state of life is attained simply by hearing and reciting its content. ⭐️SB 3.6.38 & 39 🔸Prabhupada smashes the frogish philosophers, who keep speculating on this knowledge. 🔸Even Brahma meditating for 1000s of years says that lord glories are inconceivable. 🔸Even Ananta sesha is glorifying lord since time immemorial but it is still incomplete. 🔸Even for lord it is not possible to know His own glories. 🔸It brings humility and humbleness to know where we are in our position and how great lord is. ⭐️SB 3.6.40 🔸Even words( describing something), minds ( analyze things )and ego( I and mine)have failed to fully glorify Lord. Even Demigods cannot understand Lord. 🔸We simply have to offer our obeisance to lord, and approach with humility ( not to have more knowledge and understanding with pride) 🔸During Brahma vimohan Lila, Brahma thought of Krishna as a simple cowherd boy. He thought, how can he be the supreme Lord playing with gopas. He steals away all the cows and cowherd boys but when he looks back( 1 year of earthly time) Krishna had expanded to all cows and cowherd boys. Brahma then offers prayers to Lord. 🔸When we start knowing more the more we come to the understanding that there is much more we don’t know. 🔸Yashoda mother saw the whole universe in Krishna’s mouth. 🔸All these pastimes teaches us that we approach lord with love and devotion and not with pride to know more. 🔸But we still learn more through scriptures, so that we develop love and devotion for the lord. When we understand our position and the position of Lord from the scriptures, we understand the dealings and reciprocation of lord with His devotees, and then we can develop love.
