Learn and practice Spanish with a natural, real-life conversation about living in a big city vs. a small town.
In this Spanish listening practice, Sofi and Leo compare the advantages and disadvantages of living in a large city and a smaller town. They talk about traffic, public transportation, cost of living, job opportunities, entertainment, privacy, community, noise, nature, housing, and different lifestyles.
They also discuss how your age, priorities, personality, and stage of life can influence where you would rather live.
You’ll hear everyday Spanish vocabulary, common expressions, and natural sentence patterns that you can use when talking about cities, neighborhoods, transportation, housing, moving, lifestyle, and personal preferences.
This episode is designed especially for B1–B2 Spanish learners who want to improve their listening comprehension, understand longer conversations in Spanish, and become more comfortable following natural discussions about everyday life.
🎧 How to use this video to practice Spanish
Try to listen to the conversation and understand as much as you can from context. You do not need to understand every single word.
Throughout the video, you will see Spanish and English subtitles directly on screen to help you follow the conversation and improve your comprehension.
• The Spanish subtitles help you connect the sounds you hear with the written words, recognize vocabulary more easily, and improve your Spanish listening comprehension.
• The English subtitles help you understand the meaning of unfamiliar words, expressions, or parts of the conversation without losing track of what Sofi and Leo are talking about.
By listening to natural Spanish while following the subtitles, you can gradually train your ear to recognize words, expressions, sentence patterns, and everyday vocabulary more easily.

💬 Practice with us:
Where would you rather live for the next five years: a big city or a small town?
Tell us why in Spanish. You can talk about work, transportation, cost of living, entertainment, nature, tranquility, housing, or anything else that is important to you.
And tell us where you live now: a big city, a small city, or a town?
Use the Spanish you already know. You do not need to make your answer perfect — the important thing is to practice.
