From the Archives: Sydney Tramways 1961

From the SPER archives. Footage taken by Barry Tooker during the final days of Sydney's tramways in 1961, with R1 corridor cars shown operating services from Elizabeth St and Railway Square out to Moore Park and along Anzac Parade, ending with the final tram convoy to LaPerouse and return to Randwick on the 25th February 1961. Also features the Kensington Junction signal system in action as well as the Wood-Gilbert Rail Plane Grinder in Randwick Workshops. Clips from this film can also be seen in several chapters of the STM film "Shooting Through".
