三月和四月去台灣之前，我們趕著在整個園子裡修剪果樹，想為即將到來的春天做準備。我們心裡清楚，離開這麼久再回來，一切一定會變得不一樣。今天這支影片是在上一支影片過了六週之後拍的，你一定會發現風景差好多。 現在樹木和花都開了，蜜蜂嗡嗡叫，鳥兒也快樂的唱歌，整個世界都充滿生機。春天真的來了！ （育兒小分享） 培養孩子自我激勵的其中一個關鍵，是讓他們經歷一段足夠長的「無聊時間」。無聊其實是好事，因為它會讓創意開始流動。女孩們的腦袋會開始轉個不停，想著可以做哪些有趣的事，比如播種、種花種菜、照顧動物，還有好好享受戶外。可是，給孩子電子產品和被動娛樂的誘惑實在太大了。如果我們給女孩們各自一支手機、平板或電腦，她們很可能就不想再出去自己找樂子了。這些東西本身不是壞的，只是它們對孩子的吸引力太強了。如果沒有適當的限制和界線，很容易上癮，反而把做其他事情的動力都消滅掉。 今天的影片裡，我們走出屋子，去好好照顧上帝賜給我們的這片土地。雖然工作不少，但真的很有成就感。希望今天的影片能帶給你一些鼓勵和祝福。 神對我們真好，祂那看不見的屬性，在祂所造的萬物中清楚可見。願我們因祂在我們生命中的憐憫和恩典來讚美祂，也願我們的心時時預備好來歌頌祂。 祝福你和你的家人。下支影片見！ Stephen (老外爸爸）& Family ---------------------------------- Before our trip to Taiwan in March and April we hurriedly went around our entire property pruning the fruit trees, trying to prepare for the coming Spring. We knew that things would look very different once we returned home after such a long time away. Today's video takes place 6 weeks after our previous video. You'll definitely notice a big difference in the scenery from last time. Now that the trees and flowers are in bloom, the bees are buzzing, and the birds are chirping, the world feels so alive. Spring is here! (Side-note on Parenting) One of the keys to raising self-motivated children is to let them experience long periods of boredom. Boredom is a good thing, because it helps the creative juices flowing. The girls' minds start racing thinking about all the fun things they can do, like planting seeds, growing flowers and vegetables, raising animals, and enjoying the great outdoors. But the temptation to give our children devices and passive entertainment is great. If we were to give our girls their own cellphones or tablets or computers, then they wouldn't want to go outside and entertain themselves. Those things are not inherently bad, it's just that their pull on a child's heart is so great. And without proper limitations and boundaries, they can become addictive, and kill any motivation to do other things. In today's video we emerge from the house to steward the land that God has provided for us. It's a lot of work, but it's so rewarding. We hope to day's video encourages and blesses you in some way. God is good to us, and His invisible attributes are clearly seen in His creation. May we praise Him for His mercy and grace in our lives. And may our hearts be ever ready to sing His praises.
