NO AI WAS USED IN ANY WAY FOR THIS PROJECT Redmoon makes cool stuff! I was having difficulty coming up with what I wanted this video to be, and I showed her some of it and she quickly whipped up a genuinely terrifying image of The Transjester. One collab later and her spooky drawings are part of the project! This video came first as a visual then as a thematic thing. I wanted to test out animating in Davinci Resolve using assets I created and I had the idea of The Transjester's face splitting open to reveal a bunch of teeth. Made that as a proof of concept, then spent hours agonizing over what to do with it. I struggled a lot with how I wanted to present this video. A lot of my pieces involve symbolism about my transgender journey, and The Transjester is a being born solely from that principle. It represents the joy and fun found in expression, but harbors the truth of 'being trans is very difficult in a lot of ways' as part of its face. It's supposed to be supportive and happy, but honest and sometimes grim with its reality. I feel like I struggled with the ending somewhat, as I was torn between wanting to make a good scary moment and wanting to make something thematic. I think I got a good middle ground, you let me know! Was it spooky? Did you like the vibes? I had a great time making this video and will be making more things like it.
