Lubbock Dragway “Clash on the Caprock” 9/12/26

Hello everyone, and thanks for watching! Lubbock Dragway 9/12/26 “Clash on the Caprock” Leading up to this day, my car had just not been running right. It had been breaking up under heavy load & flashing a CEL at me. I tried everything I knew to try & fix it, but on the way to the track I made a test hit & it did it again! Once we were at the track I took Monty for a couple rips while he was watching live data on the scan tool. There were two instances where it recorded a misfire but no indication of what caused it. On our way back Monty wanted to stop & talk to someone about it. We asked Mark Pena what he thought & without hesitation he said plug wires. Luckily I brought a set, so I slapped them right in! I went up to make a test pass & the car ran better than it had all week & I was thrilled to have it back to 100%. Huge thanks to Mark Pena!!! For my test pass, I was a little easy on the launch, but still managed my new best 60’ in the car. It ran great out back leading to a new PB of 7.72 @ 96 mph with a 1.90 60 ft. Time to go racing! I was signed up for the Modern N/A class. First round I drew Dylan in his 6th Gen Camaro SS. I had just a decent reaction time but the rest of the pass was my best ever. Best 60’ best 330’ best 1/8 mile ET and best MPH. The car ran a 7.54 @ 100 mph with a 1.86 60 ft. Even considering this, Dylan blew my doors off with a 7.15 & 98mph and cutting a 1.63 60ft. There’s my first loss, luckily due to the low car count, we decided to make the class double elimination. Second round I drew an S650 Mustang that seemed pretty stock. My launch was okay here, but the car did bog a little. I managed a 1.96 60 ft backing it up with a 7.73 @ 99 mph and turning on the win light. For the third round I drew Dylan again. I tried to negotiate a car length head start or at least getting the hit, but he was not willing. I knew I had to cut a great light & run a perfect pass to stay in front of him. I got too caught up in reaction time & totally botched my launch. I had my worst 60 ft of the night & Dylan ran a great pass, handing me a healthy gap. The car ran a 7.76 @ 99mph with a 1.98 60ft. Congrats to him moving on, my night was now over. Dylan would meet Steven in the finals, and take home the win. Congrats to Dylan for winning Modern N/A! It’s never fun losing but I couldn’t be happier with how my car performed, now it’s just up to me to get better at driving it. I included all the extra vids I took of other races.
