Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike (CPS-3, 1999) rebuilt as a three-on-three tag game, played like Marvel vs. Capcom: three fighters a side, all six on screen in the round's intro, tag in and out, cancel a Super Art into your partner's, snap the other point off the screen, and play with up to six people.
What's in it:
Three picks a side (character, Super Art, color). All six fighters stand in the round's intro, then the partners jump out
Tag (HP+HK): your point leaps out and your partner jumps in with an attack; down+HP+HK brings in the other one
DHC (HP+HK during a Super Art): the partner comes in already doing its own Super Art, paid from its own gauge
Snapback (quarter circle forward + MP+MK): a stock knocks the other point off the screen and forces the next partner in
Red life, Marvel vs. Capcom's rule, measured frame by frame in MvC1: about a quarter of each hit turns red, and a benched partner wins it back a point at a time
Every fighter keeps its own Super Art gauge, stun and Personal Action
An MvC3-style HUD: the portraits stack like a deck of cards and reorder on every tag, and MvC1's player cursor marks the incoming fighter
Six players: P1-P3 against P4-P6 in the SF3 TAG core for RetroArch
The side rails show the game's own memory, frame by frame: each member's life and red life, Super Art gauge, who has the point, the tag machine, the pad. The board strip counts what the CPS-3 did in each frame: the SH-2's instructions and how many of them were SF3 TAG's own code, the character DMA streaming fighters into character RAM, the sprites drawn, the sound chip's voices.
Download: soon at morphus56k.com. You need your own sfiii3nr1.zip (3rd Strike, Japan 990512, no CD); nothing from the game is distributed. Two players on Fightcade, MAME and RetroArch; up to six in RetroArch with the SF3 TAG core.
Photosensitivity warning: bright flashes from the game's Super Arts, and fast cuts. On our own frame-by-frame check against the general flash rule of ITU-R BT.1702 (not a certified test) no second has more than three large-area flashes; if flashing light affects you, please take care.

Street Fighter III 3rd Strike (C) Capcom 1999. SF3 TAG is a fan mod, not affiliated with or endorsed by Capcom.
The game shots run in FinalBurn Neo's libretro core (a build that also reports the board counters) with ordinary inputs, one game frame per video frame (the game's 59.59 Hz shown at 60). The opening's one-on-one clips are the unmodified game; everything after them is SF3 TAG v2.
