Song: They Won’t Stay Dead Artist: Evan City Swirlies Album: Lost Horror Tracks Vol II Released by Phantom Film Tracks In the summer of 1968, as Night of the Living Dead began shocking midnight audiences, a small regional band quietly cut a jangly pop single inspired by the film’s rural nightmare. “They Won’t Stay Dead” blended bright 60s guitar tones, tight harmonies, and an eerily upbeat chorus that felt at odds with Romero’s bleak apocalypse. Pressed in limited quantities and circulated locally, the single vanished almost as quickly as it appeared. Now restored and presented as an official music video, the track returns in full.
