Upper Gauley | Guide to The Big Five!

This is a good guide for the big five on the Gauley River!! My thoughts on each rapid respectively(1-5): 1. Great lines through Insignificant.  2. I would have liked to have been a little further right starting out at Pillow but as you can see there was a raft coming right behind me on that side so I had to stay a little further left than anticipated. The key to staying upright was bracing into the Pillow (leaning on my front left edge) and riding the flow out. 3. Great lines through Lost Paddle. 4. Really clean through Iron Ring. 5. Although I couldn’t keep my right edge up at Sweets, the line itself was still pretty sound. I think I would go a hair bit to the right next time!
