Thirty Years of Threats, and I Still Refuse to Live in Fear MAV now has a bodyguard. I don't have one, nor have I ever relied on one. But I have a serious question: What is he afraid of now? I mean, he took a human's life. In Germany, the Deaf community is treating him like a celebrity all over. A movie star. For more than thirty years, I have endured hatred, harassment, threats against my life, and people who seemed determined to hunt me down like vigilantes. I have even stood face-to-face with a masked man pointing a gun directly at me, threatening me to leave or face the consequences. Imagine what it feels like to have your life threatened simply for existing. Those experiences left wounds that no one should ever have to carry. As a Deaf man, I have learned that courage is not the absence of fear. It is the determination to keep living with dignity despite fear. I do not question anyone's right to personal protection, but I do question a society in which intimidation, threats, and hatred have become so normalized. I survived thirty years of adversity without surrendering my humanity. I have been threatened, shamed, shunned, and intimidated, but I refuse to let hatred dictate how I live my life. Abodyguard may protect someone's physical safety, but no amount of security can replace moral courage, human compassion, or personal integrity. I have spent decades fighting to reclaim my peace. I do not want revenge. I want dignity, accountability, and a world where nobody needs to live under the threat of violence. MAV is a coward. So is Wes Arey. So is Rob McArthur. So is Michael Loucks. So are many those vigilante hunters. Bullies are cowards. They do not fear me.
