Montreal Pride Parade 2026 in 4K: the full Fierté Montréal parade downtown, then a walk into the Village for drag performances, street dancing and Brazilian samba. Walk with us as floats, marching bands and thousands of people fill the streets for the largest Pride celebration in the francophone world. When the parade winds down we follow the crowd east along Rue Sainte-Catherine into the Village, where the party spills onto the street: drag performers and dancers on stages, balconies and sidewalks, and a Brazilian samba school on the Scène Loto-Québec. On 22 October 1977 police raided the bars Truxx and Le Mystique and arrested 146 men. Over 2,000 people took the streets the next night, and that December Québec became the first place in Canada to ban discrimination based on sexual orientation. The first march followed in June 1979 with 52 people. Fierté Montréal took over Pride in 2007. From 52 marchers to millions. 🏳️‍🌈 ABOUT THE VILLAGE Rue Sainte-Catherine Est between Berri and Papineau has been the heart of queer Montréal since the early 1980s, and every summer it closes to cars and is given back to people on foot. One of North America's largest gay villages. 🤝 EVERYONE IS WELCOME What stays with you is how wide the crowd is: families, seniors, teenagers, drag artists, community groups, unions, first-timers. Nobody is checking who belongs. 📌 A NOTE ON WILD PRIDE Montréal also had a second march the same day. Wild Pride, or Fierté Indomptable, is a grassroots, donation-funded, anti-corporate alternative with anti-capitalist, anti-colonial and pro-Palestinian politics, from Parc Jeanne-Mance. L'un des plus grands villages gais en Amérique du Nord. 🤝 TOUT LE MONDE EST BIENVENU Ce qui marque, c'est l'ampleur de la foule : familles, aînés, adolescents, artistes drag, groupes communautaires, syndicats, gens à leur première Fierté. Personne ne vérifie qui a le droit d'être là. 📌 AU SUJET DE WILD PRIDE Montréal a aussi eu une seconde marche le même jour. Wild Pride, ou Fierté Indomptable, est une marche communautaire financée par les dons et anticorporative, aux positions anticapitalistes, anticoloniales et pro-palestiniennes, au départ du parc Jeanne-Mance.
