In this video, I visit Johor Bahru CIQ to examine the latest road changes, Bukit Chagar RTS station, pedestrian connections and planned transport arrangements. What was once mainly a construction zone now looks very different, with the station illuminated and new road and walking routes gradually taking shape. The approximately 4km RTS Link will connect Bukit Chagar in Johor Bahru with Woodlands North in Singapore. It is expected to carry up to 10,000 passengers per hour in each direction during peak periods, with passengers clearing both Malaysian and Singaporean immigration at their departure station. However, the bigger question is not only when the RTS Link will open, but how passenger traffic will move through Johor Bahru city centre. For property buyers considering locations near CIQ or the RTS station, distance alone is not enough—the actual walking route, shelter, lighting, safety and direction of pedestrian flow also matter.
