⚖️ Sunday School: Hamartiology – The Doctrine of Sin | Adult Bible Study In this week’s Sunday School class, we take a sobering but essential journey into Hamartiology—the Doctrine of Sin. To understand the gospel rightly, we must understand what makes the gospel necessary: sin—its origin, nature, effects, and consequences. This study will walk through: ✅ The origin of sin in the rebellion of Satan and the Fall of Adam and Eve (Genesis 3) ✅ The reality of original sin and inherited guilt (Romans 5:12) ✅ The nature of sin as lawlessness, deception, and spiritual death ✅ The doctrine of Total Depravity—how sin corrupts every part of our being ✅ The consequences of sin: separation from God, bondage of the will, and death ✅ How Christ alone overcomes sin by His perfect obedience and sacrificial death We’ll also connect key texts like Genesis 3:6, 1 John 2:15–17, and Matthew 4:1–11 to show the pattern of temptation and the triumph of Christ, the second Adam. This lesson will not only reveal the darkness of sin but also magnify the glory of God’s grace. Far from being merely doctrinal, this study will help us see sin rightly so we may repent humbly, love the gospel deeply, and pursue holiness joyfully. 🔔 Subscribe for Christ-centered, Reformed teaching from Scripture 📖 Scripture: NASB 🎓 Theology: Reformed | Inerrant | Trinitarian | Soteriology of Grace “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23, NASB) “But where sin increased, grace abounded all the more.” (Romans 5:20, NASB) #Hamartiology #DoctrineOfSin #SundaySchool #SystematicTheology #ReformedTheology #BibleStudy #TotalDepravity #GospelTruth #AdultSundaySchool #NASB
