Welcome to Getting Back to Me, a new series all about getting back on track with my fitness and being over 40! For a long time, I’ve known what it feels like to be the fat friend, the one who may be confident, successful, funny, loved, and living her life…but still very aware of her body and how the world sees it. And this time, I’m not starting another fitness journey because I hate my body. I’m starting because I want to show up for myself again. I’m documenting why I am starting over AGAIN and what getting back to me really means. I’m also taking you to the gym with me for one of my workouts, nothing extreme, nothing perfect. Just me showing up. Because that’s my goal for this season of my life: SHOWING UP. Even when I don’t feel motivated. Even when the workout isn’t perfect. Even when I struggle. Even when progress feels slow. At 46, I’m learning that taking care of myself isn’t about trying to get my 25-year-old body back. It’s about becoming a healthier, stronger, more confident version of the woman I am NOW. This series will include my workouts, walking/running journey, meal prep, preparing for my 10K, setbacks, wins, and the real-life challenge of balancing fitness with marriage, a full-time corporate career, content creation, travel, and LIFE.
