Prelude in D minor, BWV 940

Bach can capture one's heart by painting such a gloomy picture in just 10 bars. The Picardy third seems to be an editor's suggestion which is not found in the Henle edition. I think it works either way. Thanks to ‪@landenini‬ for pointing out the resemblance to the Prelude in C major from WTC 2 - compare b.24 with b.4 of this piece. ~~~~~~~~~~ Prelude in D minor, BWV 940 by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) Piano: Ruoshi Sun (2025) on CLP-785 Temperament: Werckmeister
