The Crab Queen Rises | Boomtown Ep. 7 | Actual Play TTRPG

Welcome to Boomtown, a wholly original creation from the mind of Alexander Cabana. Boomtown is set in a post-apocalyptic Miami after some great catastrophe has destroyed the world as we know it. Magic and advanced technology intermingle. We follow our heroine Allkah! A once powerful goddess who cared little for anything but herself. She has had her powers stolen and now is trying to survive in this dangerous world. IN THIS EPISODE The party dives through the portal into a cold, briny sea cave, right into a trap. The Cult of the Carapace was ready for them, and a glowing spell circle hits everyone with the same transformation magic that turned Cynthia into a crab. Miss Pippy and Jimmy shake it off, but Allkah and The Duchess feel their bodies slowly starting to change. The cave is crawling with crabs, some caged and some swarming. Sasha throws back her hood to reveal eye stalks and a massive crab claw: she's absorbed part of Allkah's divine form and plans to eat the rest of her soul to become the crab god. Allkah's review: she looks so ugly. Miss Pippy's Fear Detonation jar sends two cultists fleeing for a "mental health day." Jimmy's withering darkness slashes Sasha's face. Later, a natural 20 dodge lets him wither a cultist who had just bought an engagement ring. Sasha catches Miss Pippy's leg in her claw, and Miss Pippy breaks free with an alligator death roll. The Duchess steps in to shield Allkah from a carapace dagger. The Duchess's Karma ability and Allkah's trickery convince the entire crab swarm that Allkah is their mama. Losing her cult and her crabs, Sasha stabs a piece of Allkah's old carapace into her own heart and molts into a gigantic crab queen. To be continued...
