Sticky Fingers

The plaintiff says she rented a basement apartment from the defendant. As soon as she moved in, her belongings were stolen. Police officers investigated the alleged crime but said there were no signs of forced entry. She knows the defendant, her landlord, stole her stuff, and she’s suing her for the value of the stolen belongings. The defendant argues the plaintiff had all sorts of visitors, and it could have been any one of them. She denies ever stealing any belongings and owes this woman nothing.
