Internal Forces are generated in structures to transfer the effect of the loads to the supports. If a beam is cut at any point into two parts, a group of two internal forces and one internal moment will appear at each side of the cut. We can find these forces by using the equilibrium equations. Examples are given showing how equilibrium equations are applied to obtain the values of the internal forces and moments.
