Chennai Drumfest 2024, curated by the very talented Lydian Nadhaswaram, was a truly special time. Thanks to Lydian, Varshan, Jhansi, and Ami for inviting Eden and me to this epic event and their wonderful hospitality. Lydian performed a lot on the piano for a drumfest! But when it was time he played the drums for his set with great fire and intent. More power to your artistry and vision. Lydian invited the legendary Dave Weckl to headline this drumfest. It was a joy to play and hang out with the Maestro, a huge Hero of mine. I was also thrilled to meet and get to know Clivia Weckl, who’s incredibly fun, passionate, and vibrant. I’m proud of Siddharth Nagarajan and Steven Samuel Devassy, who achieved new heights in their craft. It was a pleasure meeting and hearing Elay for the first time. He’s a unique drummer and a great person. It was a super fun to play the song ‘Spot’ from Chromatic Grammatic with Lydian, the great Aalaap Raju on bass and the very talented Ami on flute. Everyone played great! Thank you Gladson and his crew for getting the ‘Green Pearl Monster’ kit to me to play. It’s always a pleasure.
