The Secret Formula of Victor Halstrom | A Hercule Poirot Mystery

A quiet train ride. A dead pharmaceutical magnate. A daughter who refuses to accept the official verdict. When Victor Halstrom dies of an apparent heart attack on the Geneva express, the case is closed within thirty-six hours. But his daughter Elise knows her father too well to believe it—and when she discovers his private notebook filled with cryptic chemical notations, she takes the overnight train to London to find the one man who might understand. Hercule Poirot is initially reluctant. Heart attacks happen to men of Halstrom's age and profession. But when a second death strikes with identical symptoms—and when Elise reveals her father's final, frightened phone call—the little Belgian detective finds himself racing against a killer who has already proven how cleanly they can strike. What begins as a suspicious death becomes a hunt for a formula so dangerous that two men have already died to keep it secret.
