The Eminence in Shadow is a Japanese light novel series by Daisuke Aizawa, illustrated by Tōzai, about a boy named Cid Kagenou who is reincarnated in a fantasy world and lives out his dream of being a secret mastermind, only to find the fictional evil cult he created is real. He forms an organization called Shadow Garden to fight this cult, all while maintaining his persona as a powerless, ordinary person. The series began as a web novel in 2018 and has since been adapted into manga and anime, with the light novel being a more refined version of the original story.
