Tamlin locked Feyre in the Spring Court Manor, and BookTok has never forgiven him. Rhysand bound her to a bargain for the rest of her existence, and the entire fandom swooned. Someone make it make sense in the comments. I genuinely want the counterarguments! (Spoilers through A Court of Frost and Starlight.)
I just read all five ACOTAR books for the first time, and this is the question I keep circling: Both Tamlin and Rhysand controlled Feyre "for her own good," but the story asks me to read one as a violation and the other as a love story. So this video is me arguing with a series I love, what the two situations actually have in common, why intentions don't settle it, and why Tamlin seems to be the only traumatized character in Prythian whose trauma is disqualifying.
This video is actually a part of a longer video where I lay out all the problems I have with this series.
