Join us on an extraordinary journey to Marengpara (Marengpara Village) in the Garo Hills of Meghalaya, India, near the Bangladesh-India border. This is not a conventional travel documentary. Our journey takes us through a rubber plantation, remote hill trails, jhum cultivation fields, streams, steep hillocks and the border landscape of Meghalaya. One of the most fascinating discoveries was seeing people from both sides of the border farming across the same mountainous landscape. Bangladeshi farmers cultivate different crops in the jhum fields, while members of the Garo community on the Indian side continue their agricultural activities nearby. We also meet Garo women and local cattle herders who regularly travel through these difficult hills for their livelihoods. Leeches, slippery terrain, rainwater and the rugged landscape are part of everyday life in this remote border region. Along the way, we witness the India-Bangladesh border fence, border security presence, traditional hill agriculture, jhum cultivation and the unique lifestyle of communities living around the Garo Hills. Most importantly, local people share stories about the old Marengpara settlement and the changing landscape around the village. This documentary explores the hidden side of Meghalaya's Garo Hills, borderland life, indigenous communities, jhum farming, rural agriculture and the mysterious history surrounding Marengpara. If you enjoy border documentaries, hidden villages, Garo culture, indigenous communities, rural India, rural Bangladesh, Meghalaya travel, mountain life and unexplored places, this documentary is for you. 📍 Location: Marengpara, Garo Hills, Meghalaya, India 📍 Near: Sreebardi, Sherpur, Bangladesh #Marengpara #মারেংপাড়া #garohillsmeghalaya #গারোপাহাড় #meghalaya #indiabangladeshborder #সীমান্তজীবন #jhumcultivation #গারোজনগোষ্ঠী #BorderDocumentary
