Laos is a land of breathtaking nature, ancient traditions, and warm, welcoming people. From mist-covered mountains and peaceful rivers to lush forests, golden temples, and timeless villages, Laos invites travellers to slow down, discover, and experience life at a gentler pace. Its beauty is not only found in its landscapes. It lives in the kindness of its people, the richness of its culture, its traditional crafts, its music, its food, and the quiet spirituality found throughout the country. But Laos also carries a difficult history. Decades of war and conflict left deep scars on its people and its land. The legacy of unexploded ordnance remains a reality in parts of the country, reminding us that beneath Laos's extraordinary beauty lies a story of courage, loss, and resilience. For travellers, Laos offers more than a beautiful destination. It offers a chance to connect with a country that has endured much, preserved its identity, and continues to welcome the world with remarkable warmth. We have made a round tour in Laos. Our priority is always to visit local villages en experience local live. In part 1 of our videoreport we visit Vientiane and the villages Luang Namtha, Ban Kabeb, Lanten, Ban Sobkhong, Ban Sap Khing en Ban Sop Jaem. We have forest barbecue, we make a boat trip on the Ou River and hike to the Tad Mok waterfall Jan-Arend van Boeijen, www.travelbyphoto.nl
