IMPACT and Richmond RCMP issue summer reminder

Video description: A video demonstrating to viewers how to deter thieves from your car. ---------------------------------- With warmer weather drawing more people out to beaches, parks, and shopping districts, IMPACT (Integrated Municipal Provincial Auto Crime Team) and the Richmond RCMP are reminding drivers that the easiest way to prevent a theft from auto is to ensure there is nothing worth stealing in plain sight. Most break-ins are crimes of opportunity. A thief looks through car windows for something quick – a bag, phone, sunglasses or even a charging cable on the dash - and a locked door is rarely enough to stop them. The single best deterrent is simple: give a thief no reason to look twice. If you see someone looking into vehicles or acting suspiciously around a parking lot, report it to the police.
