Getting cash from your spouse's 401(k) plan in divorce

Divorce is expensive and you need cash to pay attorneys, buy a home, and pay off debt. Often one spouse has a 401(k) plan at work. In this video I explain the IRS rule that allows a spouse to get cash from his/her spouse's 401(k) plan in divorce without incurring the 10% early withdrawal penalty that is imposed if you are under age 59 1/2.
